Saw IV!!

This past Thursday night at 12 o’clock I went to go see the movie Saw IV. I am not a scary movie fan. I am always dragged by my friends to go to these scary movies with them. Although many movies scare the heck out of me, Saw IV always was a great thrill to me. I have to admit that during the first Saw, I was in the movie theater and had to leave the theater because I has terrified. After leaving that movie I realized I needed to go back and continue watching the rest.

This movie Saw IV was one of the most gruesome movies ever!! Critics loved the movie although many viewers did not think it was all that. I do recommend everyone to watch all four Saw movies. I have to warn you though you may need to cover your eyes during some scences.

A New Hit for New York!!

New York has a baseball hero and fan favorite leaving. Alex Rodriquez has decided to end his 250 million dollar, 10 year contract with the New York Yankee’s. Many may believe this is because of manager Joe Torre leaving the Yankees. In this past month the Yankees let down New York and owners another year in losing in the playoffs. Yankee owner declared that Joe Torre would be let off if they lost. So instead of firing Joe they decided to lower his salary to 5 million instead of 7.5 million. A 2.5 million dollar decrease in salary!! Joe Torre did not take the new offer and passed it by, leaving the New York team. If this did not let down the fans of the Yankee’s then Alex Rodriquez leaving the Yankee’s surely will. Did A-Rod get discouraged by his teams ability to win any upcoming championships? Is there hope of the Yankee’s to come back around and become the champ’s once again? Maybe so, I mean ever since A-Rod came to the New York team the Yankee’s may have gained profits due to his good looks and sharp talent; but did they loss the ability to WIN?talent; but did they loss the ability to WIN?

"Put Your Mouth Where the Money Is"

=

That is the slogan for McDonalds this October 2nd thru 29th. Monopoly is back at McDonalds, and more exciting than ever! Who is really the one’s more excited? Is it the millions of overweight people in America or the million dollar owners of McDonalds?

This is a serious health problem is occurring in McDonalds this month. Many people are eating McDonalds for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! McDonalds states that you can find game pieces on:

· New! Big Mac
· New! McMuffin sandwiches
· Large French Fries
· Hash Browns
· Medium and Large drinks
· Premium Chicken Sandwiches
· 3- Piece and 5- piece Chicken Selects.

Why is that each of the above meal pieces range in the highest category in calories and dollars. What I believe is that McDonalds should post a new chart of information where to find game pieces similar to the below chart.

· New! Big Mac (540 cals)
· New! McMuffin sandwiches (300 cals)
· Large French Fries (570 cals)
· Hash Browns (140 cals)
· Medium and Large drinks (203/310 cals)
· Premium Chicken Sandwiches (420 cals)
· 3- Piece and 5- piece Chicken Selects. (382/635 cals)

Today in USA TODAY, Paul Davidson wrote an article "Free TV shows may air on cellphones." The local television channels that we all love watch everyday, are about to come to cell phones. Usually these channels have high ratings in the evenings. Due to many home from work, and children home from school. This makes local channels to air their top rating "money making" seasons/ shows air after eight o'clock.

Now that the popular channels will be available to mobile phones, ipods, and in-car DVD players this may have an effect on the other companies that carry portable game players, and radios. Also a negative effect that his may have on society and law is since text messaging there has been many car accidents, television in cars will also increase the
number of accident.

Beauty is Pain!!

Is it really worth the pain? That's what millions of women say every morning before stepping outside on the high heels. Many want the look for high fashion, and trendy. Although it comes with blisters, and sores on feet. Designers do not make shoes based on comfort they make shoes based on the look. Some designers even make shoes as if they are a piece of art in the M.E.T.

Famous shoe designers such as Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Jimmy Choo, Milano Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Tod's, Chloe, Dolce & Gabbana all have exotic designs and styles. Although the shoe may be breath taking, the pain that comes along also may possibly be breath taking!! Heels are no longer like they use to be in the "stone ages" they are now 3-5 inch heels.

Companies such as Band Aid and Johnson Johnson are making millions off of these painful shoes. People need to care for their bruised and blistered feet.

Diddy Turned Into Daddy This Past Week!

The 37 year old brooklyn born hip-hop Mogul who owns his own clothing line, fragrance, company, record label, shes, and television shows goes by the name of Sean Combs. Mr. Combs aka Diddy and former wife Kim porter recently gave birth to twins Jessie James and D'Lila Star in December. Combs also has two other children Quincy and Christian whom is 8,with ex-girlfriend Kim. Justin 13 year old is Diddy's other son with ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton-Brim. Just when he thought five children were enough DNA proves that Diddy is the father to one year old Chance Chapman Combs, mother is known to be Sarah Chapman.

"At First, I wasn't sure if this was my child," he said. "Now that it has become clear she is, I will take care of her for the rest of her life." Sean Combs stated this after having knowledge of the DNA results. Hopefully Diddy is present in all SIX of his children's lives!

Once an Enemy now a Hero!

The fans would always cheer against the #3 red sox center fielder Johnny Damon when at bat. He was notorious for his caveman features, long hair, full face beard, and awkward presence. The Yankee's and Red Sox never got along, fans and even cities hated each other. There was always competition between the two teams.

For Damon in 2005 he drafted to play for the Yankees. Now no one would have ever though for a second that this wold occur. Nor did they think they would be cheering for the notorious baseball player. Although if you heard about this past Monday night's baseball game you would know that New York fans were cheering and applauding the new Yank. Damon turned the game around in the fifth inning when he hit a three-run homer that gave the Yankees hope to continue off in the play-offs. The fans showed much respect and appreciation for the player. Damon stated "It felt great" and "I know the Red Sox are off waiting for the next team, and hopefully that team is us. But i enjoy playing here at Yankee Stadium. I enjoy being with these teammates here. I enjoy doing for the Yankees." This being said he not only won the respect from the fans but also the players like A-Rod he stated " He's the best lead off hitter in the last 10 years in my opinion. He's amazing. Like I say, the name is Johnny Damon and he is very special and i am glad he's on my team"

All i know is that i can not wait to see if the Yankees make it to play against the Red Sox's!!

Is Reality TV Going Too Far?

Today in society many people do not have little values and morals. Many television channels have programs based on real people and their lives. VH1 is a cable television channel that was created in January 1985 by Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment, at the time a division of Warner Communications and owners of MTV. VH1 and sister channel MTV are currently part of the MTV Networks division of Viacom.

This channel's programs are basically based on "old /one hit wonder" celebrities. Some of these celebrities reality shows are "Flavor of Love" based on hip hop group Public Enemies main MC rap superstar William Jonathan Drayton, Jr. aka "Flavor Flav". This show Flavor of Love was meant to be a dating game similar to The Bachelor. Although it was presented as a show were many women degraded themselves for this man. Even though it was meant to only have one season the show brought upon two new series called " I love New York 1and2" and also "Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School". These shows started the girls from the flavor flavs series.

Now although these shows have amazing ratings and are hilarious to watch, when are they going to show programs based on intelligent and educated people. Well VH1's new series's called "America's Smartest Model" in my opinion is still not going to cut it.

Gunman in small Wisconsin town

Ever wonder why stories about small town incidents never hit front page on the paper? Well i do! This past Sunday October 7th, 2007; a twenty year old full time Forest County deputy sheriff and a part time Crandon police office went on a shooting rampage. Killing six innocent citizens, and injuring others. What they thought would be just a gathering with pizza and movies turned into a tragedy.

Now my question is not only what mad this man kill these people, but why isn't this country more aware of gun control. We are hearing more and more stories about random gunman and shootings than ever before. I found this article in The New York Times. Not on the front cover but in the back of the paper. Why is it that these stories are not concerning the public? Why isn't the government and police doing something serious and effective about gun control?

Exposing one's self

When one hears "facebook or myspace" the first thing that comes to their mind is a networking site, Correct? Wrong most think of children exposing to much personal information about themselves.

The New York Times recently issued an article about how investors and creditors are making fortune's out of these sites. Not only by making "applications and links" available but as a major advertising advantage. Companies try to sell items and slogans to these "children."

For example myspace says that their users must be at least 14 years of age to join MySpace. The new york state legal age is 21 years old. Myspace allows kids to join groups regarding alcohol.

I believe that the age to join myspace and facebook should be raised to at least 16 years old. This is still a young age to me, due to the fact that their are many older adults lying about their age on these sites. It is not a safe place for children under the age of 16 in my opinion.
